The Wooden Chair, created by the Universitat Politécnica de València (UPV) and the Valencian Institute of Research (IVE), its purpose is the promotion and development of activities that make visible the need and importance of recovering wood in the design and improvement of the built habitat, Looking for its decarbonisation, favoring circularity, creating equitable, healthy and resilient environments, through innovation, digitization and industrialization of the sector. 

The director of the chair is Begoña Serrano Lanzarote, full professor of the department.
